Exploring Technology Through a Human-Centred Lens

About

The Digital Humanist is a growing platform for critical reflection on the implications of emerging technologies.

Founded by Saffron Sadiq, an early-career researcher with a background in AI safety, digital humanities and policy, this project began as an initiative to think more publicly about the future of technology.

While still in its early stages, The Digital Humanist brings together academic research, wider societal reflections and curated resources to ask questions about how technologies will change humanity. We explore what it might mean to design, regulate, and imagine technologies in ways that centre safety, human dignity and democratic accountability.

Who We Are

We are a collective of thinkers, researchers, and activists at the University of Cambridge united by a set of shared beliefs regarding technology.

We are made up of diverse voices, each with a unique perspective, from digital humanities students to AI safety advocates, policy experts, and human rights professionals. What brings us together is our commitment to ensuring that AI and digital technologies serve humanity, rather than replace or harm it.
